“Walking a careful line between the sounds of Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Deerhunter.” (NME Magazine)
Off the back of having one of the
most played independent tracks on Sydney’s FBi Radio last year for their single
With Roses, psychedelic rock trio,
The Walking Who, have returned with a European-inspired single from the band’s
first overseas venture.
Taking in Holland, London, Germany and Italy as part of their 2014 tour, and finally recording their first 2015 release in Iceland, the band have released Electrocute The Mannequin as part of an FBi Radio initiative for the Northern Lights EP where they were selected from almost 600 band entries across Australia to record at Greenhouse Studios in Iceland, and to also perform at the Iceland Airwaves Festival.
For those who have been following
The Walking Who since their 2010 beginnings, but more notably since their 2013 Mansions EP release, will know the band’s
Flaming Lips/Lou Reed-swaying; Electrocute
The Mannequin relishes in their glimmering psych-rock sound whilst enjoying
the pace of a nostalgic Americana/indie rock setting, fitting for lovers of The War
On Drugs and Deerhunter.
Electrocute The Mannequin will appear on the band's new album to be released in late 2015.
